Meet The Award Winning Therapists at our Boulder Center

Our licensed therapists average over 13 years’ experience, and our hiring standards are the highest in the state – we rigorously screen and interview each candidate, and only hire an average of 5% of applicants. We offer a satisfaction guarantee on all services.

Massage rates vary by therapist. As demand for their services goes up, a therapist may choose to increase their rates. Therapists with higher rates tend to be requested more, but it doesn’t mean they are necessarily more experienced or skilled. We suggest you choose a therapist based on your needs and goals. We can give personalized recommendations based on what you are looking for. Just give us a call at 303.938.0388.

Alex RuizAlex Ruiz

Alex Ruiz is a Colombian-born Canadian citizen who traveled to Boulder solely for the purpose of practicing massage therapy. He stayed because of what he found.

Throughout his life, Alex has competed at high levels as an athlete in both organized sport and just for fun. Alex understands the tolls life events can take on the body. He has personal experience being treated and treating many ailments, relieving pain symptoms at the source.

Throughout his massage career, Alex has learned that no two sessions are alike. Everyone has their own set of life experiences and a unique relationship to their body, which deeply affects their personal massage style preferences and needs. This understanding has enabled Alex to utilize his training and extensive life experience to tailor each massage session to the needs of his clients. He loves blending styles and using the tools he knows to better fit the needs of his clients. From treatment-oriented bodywork including (but not limited to) trigger point therapy, myofascial release, muscle energy techniques (METs), active isolated stretching (AIS) to more of the soothing, relaxing Swedish massage with fluid three dimensional contact and even accessing a more energy-based multilayered Reiki and chakra balancing.

Alex graduated from the 1,000-hour program at the Boulder College of Massage Therapy in 2008 and additionally received his Associates in Occupational Studies (AOS) the following year. Alex’s focus was in orthopedic and sports massage. He also completed training in hot stone, pre-natal, chair massage reflexology, and in 1998 he attained his Mastership in the Usui method of Reiki energy healing. Alex is a professional member of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP).

Alex’s gifts range far and wide; his presence, smile and welcoming demeanor will always make you feel at ease. In his spare time he loves to spend time in his garden, learning, camping, exercising by playing, yoga and contemplating the meaning of life’s little wonders.

"I believe in the innate wisdom of the body; given an adequate platform of support, motivation, and guidance, I believe the human body can heal, excel and thrive in today’s stressful society." -Alex Ruiz

FullSizeRAngela Delsanter

Angela Delsanter began her interest in bodywork as an undergraduate studying dance at Ohio University. A large part of the curriculum included kinesiology and physiology. These courses provided a solid foundation for Angela to develop an interest in bodywork. After graduating in 1995 with a B.F.A., she moved to Colorado to pursue a career in modern dance and study massage therapy. She is a 1999 graduate of The Colorado School of the Healing Arts. She can also be seen performing with The Frequent Flyer Productions, a company she has been dancing with for nine years. Angela utilizes her experience with movement, combined with her massage background to create a unique bodywork experience.

Angela's own experience with pregnancy has led her to develop a specialty in pre- and post-natal massage. She has also suffered from migraine headaches since childhood. As a result, she has great empathy for those who experience this same pain and can offer relief through trigger-point work. As a recent cancer survivor, she is planning on learning more about oncology massage.

Last year, Angela and her family moved from Denver to the mountains. This has been an opportunity to create a greater peace of mind. She is happy to be a part of MassageSpecialists.com.

Brian SaegerBrian Saeger

Brian graduated from the Utah College of Massage Therapy in 1998. He has practiced in the Virgin Islands and all over the U.S., from Maine to Oregon and several other states in between.

Long, slow, deep strokes stopping to address trigger points is his favorite method. This allows the parasympathetic nervous system to calm down and relax the body and move away from anxiety and toward a state of peace. He encourages slow steady breathing and a “team” effort between himself and his clients to get the results that each client has come to get addressed, whether for that one session or as a larger plan of action. His philosophy around the body is much like that of his bikes or car, in that, if you find a good mechanic it’s good to stick with him or her for several reasons. A few of these reasons are that the therapist knows your body and you don’t need to explain the same story of your needs each time you come in (more table time). The therapist knows the pressure that you desire and the edge that you can take and still stay calm energetically. The therapist learns to understand the larger story of the unique person you are. Also, if you know your therapist better you will be more comfortable asking for what you want and letting him or her know what is not working or causing pain in the moment. Rapport leads to safety of the container and a safe container can lead to deeper healing. Having had several injuries himself, both physical and emotional, Brian brings a sense of compassion and a firm, masculine, nurturing quality to his work.

Brian has also been teaching yoga since the mid-'90s and has been involved in men's work for many years. This work has helped in his ability to listen and hold space for each of his clients.

Deena BallDeena Ball

Deena is a successful professional massage therapist of 18 years. Even before then, her earliest memories were of “wanting to help people feel better.” Always moving towards that goal, it was her formal education and trust in the healing arts that blessed her own healing.

A year into her practice, Deena suffered a severe car accident, throwing her into deep physical and emotional agony. She survived by directing her own recovery - prescribing a treatment massage, Rolfing, and practioners’ healing intention. In this ongoing experience, Deena’s talent is in understanding the needs of a person in pain. Certified in deep tissue, trigger point, polarity, pre/post pregnancy and infant massage, Deena offers her clients a safe haven to receive true therapeutic touch whether for recovery, chronic pain, or relaxation.

Deena knows bodywork restores impaired energy by nourishing the body and mind on a cellular, emotional and spiritual level. When given the opportunity to free yourself from discomfort, a whole new perspective comes to life. Your session with Deena is dedicated to meeting your goals respectfully.

DrewDrew Schober

Drew studied massage at the Center for Massage & Natural Health in Asheville, NC. He specializes in deep tissue work and uses integrative techniques to reduce muscular tension, increase flexibility, and leave his clients feeling nourished and rejuvenated. Drew uses a combination of focused, concentrated pressure along with long flowing strokes for a massage that is both curative and deeply relaxing.

As a longtime athlete and outdoor enthusiast, Drew understands the importance of rest and recovery. In today's hyper-stimulating world, it's easy to neglect one's body. To be healthy and feel energetic, it’s essential to invest some time and space for recuperation and healing. Pain, stress, discomfort, and sickness are often acted out in our lives and relationships, yet they all begin in the body. Sometimes it's necessary to slow down...to stop talking, stop thinking, and let your mind and body relax.

Drew approaches massage as an art form that must be tailored to the specific needs and requests of each individual. He is committed to helping his clients feel their very best.

If you are looking for a proven professional who can help you address: strain patterns of everyday life (daily computer use, texter thumb, airplane commuter seat syndrome, etc.) old accidents, new injuries, or chronic pain such as fibromyalgia, then consider working with Hunter.

With over 15 years of hands-on experience working with clients with similar worries and concerns, Hunter brings a deep understanding of how the body works to the table.

Her path to becoming a massage therapist and certified Advanced Rolfer came out of her personal need to solve chronic pain patterns stemming from a variety of injuries. An avid equestrian in her youth, she had many a fall; add to this a few car accidents and a motorcycle accident, and as with most people the compensation due to the muscles tightening around the injured area created a reduction in range of motion. Similarly, with some of her own clients, she was so tight, she didn’t realize how much pain she was in.

Hunter graduated from Lauterstein-Conway Massage School (Austin, Texas) in 1999, and received her first ten series of Rolfing at the same time.  While working through her own pain issues she became certified and taught, Pilates (both mat and apparatus), Gyrotonics, Gyrokinesis, and Yamuna Zake Body Rolling.

Finally, in 2003 she became a Certified Rolfer and in 2004 a Rolf Movement Practitioner.  She completed her Advanced Rolfing Training in 2014 with Jan Sultan who studied directly with Dr. Ida Rolf, and continues to study with Jan to deepen her understand of Rolfing.

After studying Biodynamic Craniosacral (2006) at the Colorado School of Energy Studies she started to realize she had more control over the flair ups of chronic head, neck, and shoulder pain than she thought.

Now Hunter is largely pain free, and is passionate in helping her clients find their own freedom from pain as well. Please be advised Hunter can only use Biotone Pure Touch organics Massage Creme, Biotone Advanced Therapy Massage Lotion, or water in her sessions.

Rebecca1Rebecca Arnold

Rebecca has been a massage therapist since 1999.  She experienced an awakening into her path in the healing arts after being initiated into Reiki in 1992.  She pursued this calling by becoming certified in massage at Twin Lakes School of Healing Arts in Santa Cruz, CA and receiving advanced massage training at Esalen Institute in Big Sur, CA.

Rebecca’s massage modalities include Swedish, Deep Tissue, Reiki, Hot Stone, Prenatal and Core Synchronism, an energy modality that works with the rhythmic motion of cerebral spinal fluid to restore harmony and activate the body’s innate healing capacities.  Rebecca is also a Registered Psychotherapist, with an MA in Somatic Psychotherapy from Naropa University.  In 2013, she completed a two-year training in Hakomi, an experiential method of mindfulness-based body psychotherapy which she brings to her private body therapy practice.

Rebecca's work can be described as nurturing and deep, utilizing long, deep strokes to effectively release areas of pain and tension.  A session with Rebecca integrates the whole body, includes passive stretching and energy healing, and inspires tranquility and inner centering.  Rebecca's work addresses the physical, emotional and spiritual, supports  listening to the body's messages, and connecting with the healer within.

Ryan StevensRyan Stevens

Ryan was educated at the Utah College of Massage Therapy in 1996, with a specific focus in the areas of deep tissue, Russian sports massage, and shiatsu, going on to become a primary or assistant instructor of each.

Ryan's passion for bodywork is a desire to holistically participate in the discovery of everything that makes up the human experience. The potential for genuine connection, listening, and an interest in another person's well-being is a foundation of his bodywork practice. This is also supported by his background in Ashtanga yoga, martial arts, and nutrition/ living foods.

In Ryan's sessions the approach is always guided by the idea of balance. Since balance is never static, this means developing an understanding of the living, fluxuating relationships of the body, which bodywork can have a tremendous influence on. His desire is to discover the most appropriate influence possible, combining deep work with the muscle tissue while also responding to subtle energetic patterns. He feels that a patient, highly aware approach will allow the body to discover the balance and harmony that is always available.
