What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic was founded in 1895 and has since established itself as an effective form of natural health care. Chiropractic care uses physical manipulation to care, treat, and maintain a healthy neuromuscular system with special emphasis on the spine. As the foundation of our body, the spine’s health is inexorably linked to the health of the rest of our bodies. Outside of our brains, the spine houses the single most important collection of nerves and is the primary support system for our entire upper body. Dysfunction in the back can manifest itself in complications ranging from poor biomechanics, irritation, to intense pain.
Chiropractic is grounded around the idea of vertebral subluxation, which is misalignment at vertebral joints in the spine. These misalignments can cause pinched nerves, tightness in muscles, and can create biomechanical dysfunction that can cause additional complications. Chiropractors will identify these subluxations and correct them through physical manipulations, offering a natural treatment protocol to many of the problems that can severely affect our quality of life.
